HP-24 Project

Update 25 February 2003:

I've mostly been fiddling around with getting my vacuum setup put together. I should be ready to do some test pull-downs on some foam chunks later this week. That will help me calibrate the system so we can vacuum bag the skins onto the horizontal stabilizer cores without crushing them.

Down at Tehachapi, the first article forward fuselage is coming together nicely. The following photos show the latest progress on the layups and the rudimentary internal structure. The funny-looking enclosures in the mid-fuselage anchor the landing gear and the wings to the fuselage. The space between the two enclosures will get covered over by a bonded-on strap after the landing gear is installed.
