HP-24 Project

Update 4 December 2002:

We returned safely with the wing spar plug table, the wing spar mold, and the first pair of wing spars.

The picture below shows me holding one of the wing spars. It weighs about 16 lbs, which is right about what we predicted.

For the wing plugs, I'm thinking now that I'll try to get real close with hotwired foam cores, and then use R/C sailplane techniques with mylar and vacuum bagging. I've got a demo copy of Compufoil, and I'll probably buy a real copy to do hotwire templates on a Feathercut table.
